Gifted

Advanced Studies

Students are recommended for University Academy's gifted program by teacher or parent recommendation.  Recommended students are assessed using the SAGES (Screening Assessment for Gifted Elementary and Middle School Students) and NNAT3 (Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test Third Edition) Assessments. Students must score higher than a 75% on both assessments and these scores are then compared to internal University Academy Benchmark and MAP data (if applicable) to determine eligibility.  Gifted instruction is offered in grades 2 - 5 with small group enrichment for grades kindergarten and first.
