Anatomy and Physiology

Anatomy involves the study of the location, appearances and relationships of body parts.  Physiology explains the mechanisms that operate bodily activities.  Anatomy and Physiology course students spend a great deal of time memorizing body parts and functions.  Students are expected to read the textbook and be willing to work inside and outside of class.  Dissection compliments coursework.  This course is designed for college preparation, especially for biology and health career majors.  We will also incorporate organizational and study skills designed to increase learning and performance.  An emphasis will be placed on developing the student's problem-solving skills and applying the various areas of science we study to real-world situations.
