MATH STANDARDS

FIRST QUARTER - MATH

I can use strategies to solve addition word problems

I can fluently add with 20 using mental strategies

I can explain and demonstrate the use of ones, tens, hundreds

I can count within 1000; by 1's, 10's, 100's

I can read and write numbers to 1000 in different ways.

I can add 2 digit numbers

I can use strategies to add numbers within 1000 and regroup

I can compare 3-digit numbers

SECOND QUARTER - Math

I can create pairs in equal groups to determine odd and even numbers.

I can use strategies to solve subtraction word problems

I can explain place value strategy when adding or subtracting.

I can fluently subtract with 20 using mental strategies

I can use place value to add and subtract mentally

I can use place value to add and subtract up to 4 digit numbers

I can subtract 2 digit numbers

I can decompose numbers into pairs up to 20.

I can use strategies to subtract numbers within 1000 and borrow

THIRD QUARTER - Math

I can use different tools to measure and estimate objects using standard units

I can use two different units of measurement for the same object and compare.

I can measure the lengths of objects and express differences in a standard unit.

I can use addition to solve measurement word problems.

I can use subtraction to solve measurement word problems.

I can estimate lengths using units of in, ft, cm, and meters

I can solve word problems using money.

I can create arrays to gain understanding of multiplication

FOURTH QUARTER - Math 

I can represent whole numbers as lengths from 0 and whole number sums and differences on a number line

I can tell and write time within 5 minutes.

I can generate measurement data by measuring lengths of objects and create a line plot with the data

I can draw a graph to represent data.

I can draw and recognize shapes (quadrilateral, triangle, pentagon, hexagon, and cube) by their number of angles or faces.

I can partition a rectangle into rows and colums and count to find total number (area)

I can divide a rectangle into halves, thirds, fourths

ELA STANDARDS

 FIRST QUARTER - ELA

I can identify nouns, plural nouns, proper nouns and pronouns.

I can write complete sentences.

I can decode unknown words in reading.

I can spell unknown words using spelling words. (Spelling)

I can read grade appropriate sight words.

I can actively speak and listen. 

I can ask and answer key questions using text.

I can identify character traits.

I can explain the message or moral in fables and folktales.

I can describe how characters in a story respond to events and challenges.

I can sequence and summarize events in a story or text.

I can compare and contrast (texts, characters, events).

I can comprehend grade level text.

I can read fluently at grade level.

 I can write a paragraph with a topic sentences, details and a closing.
 SECOND QUARTER - ELA

I can write a friendly letter with grade appropriate conventions. 

 I can identify verbs.

I can write a narrative paragraph.

I can write a persuasive paragraph.

I can identify and differentiate the main idea and details of a story.

I can use context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words.

I can use reference materials to find the spelling or meaning of unknown words.

THIRD QUARTER - ELA

I can identify adjectives and adverbs.

I can determine and identify proper usage of text features in nonfiction. 

I can write an informative paragraph.

I can write a report.

FOURTH QUARTER - ELA

I can use an apostrophe to form contractions and show possession.

I can understand figurative language in stories.
