Student behavior will be recorded in the student's binder everyday. I use a color coded system.
BLUE - Student has shown exemplary behavior all day and has been a role model to his or her class the entire day.
GREEN - Student has followed the rules and shown good, respectful, and responsible behavior for most of the day.
YELLOW - Student has been given more than a couple redirects both in the morning and afternoon for behavior. The student will conference with Mrs. Truog about the day as she writes a note to parent in the binder about why that student got a yellow day.
RED - Student had a repeated or serious behavioral issue that disrupted classroom instruction and has resulted in the child having to leave the classroom that day. Student will complete a think sheet in either a Buddy Room or the office, and parent must sign it that night. Mrs. Truog will talk with parents to discuss the day and determine if a new behavior plan is needed.
Students who earn no more than one yellow day in a given week will be allowed to participate in Gryphon time on Friday afternoons.
I use Class Dojo to communicate back and forth with parents. I encourage parents to contact me via Dojo anytime, and I will always respond usually the same day and if not, within 24 hours.
