Attendance Policy

It is important that you establish a “school routine” for your child. When your child attends school regularly, he/she feels more secure with his/her surroundings, make friends more easily and learns more effectively.  Please make sure that your child is at school every day on time.  When your child is late, it changes the dynamics of our day and interrupts instructions. Students may arrive as early as 7:00 a.m.  Parents/guardians should follow the guidelines with regard to attendance in the parent/student handbook. Notify the school between 7:00 and 7:15 a.m. the morning of absences by calling the Attendance Hotline.

Elementary School (K-5th): 412-5905

School hours Start -7:00 a.m.

                        End- 3:00 p.m.

*Students are tardy at 7:30 and must check in at the office before coming to class.

Uniforms

Your child will be a full participant in a wide range of activities.  It is my hope he/she will come to school dressed comfortably for the weather.  I encourage you to send your child in tennis shoes and socks, as we will be outside, running, jumping, climbing and exploring.

Uniforms are mandatory.  Each child MUST be in uniform EVERYDAY, unless notified by the school for special occasions.

*Extra Clothing

Kindergarteners will need a set of extra uniforms including undergarments.  Make sure that your child’s name is written on each item and placed in a plastic bag.  Extra clothing will be kept in your child’s locker.

Snacks

A snack calendar for the month will be placed in your child’s FISH Book at the beginning of each month. On the back of the snack calendar you will find a list of suggested snacks.  The average class size is 20 students.  Please do not send drinks.  If your child has food allergies, please let me know.  I request that you provide snacks only for your child.  This will help to make sure your child does not have an allergic reaction.

Other arrangements will be made for parents who opt to not have their child to participate.
