Handwriting Without Tears Literacy & Math- this curriculum uses lively music and playful activities to teach number concepts, geometry, sequencing, phonological awareness, vocabulary, and concepts about print.

 

F.A.S.T-is the phonics curriculum that teaches decoding skills for phonics (letter sounds, sight words)

 

Every Day Counts Calendar Math-is a math calendar curriculum that will help students gain depth of understanding, fluency with skills and confident in problem solving. 

 

Writing Workshop-is an instructional model that utilizes modeling, guided practice and independent writing practice.  The model helps student to write narratives, opinion and informational pieces.

 

Daily 5-is a literacy structure that teaches independence and gives children the skills needed to create a lifetime love of reading and writing.  It consists of five tasks that are introduced individually.  These are the five tasks: read to self, work on writing, read to someone, listens to reading and word work.

 

Math Stations- is a rotation that teaches independence and gives children the skills needed to create a lifetime love of math.  Math stations is similar to Daily 5, but for math skills.  Children will do counting games, word problems, and other games related to the math lesson.

 

Developmental Centers-is traditional play time or exploration centers.  Developmental centers include: math, science, dramatic play, blocks, sand/water, art and music. Kindergarten children learn through play!  That is why it is so important to schedule time each day so children can participate in 'developmental' or 'free choice' centers.
