Scholarship Record
The 38 students making up the Class of 2016 earned $6 million in scholarships.  This breaks the high bar of $3.02 million previously set by the 37 students in the Class of 2015.
College Acceptances:  100% of graduates were accepted to at least two colleges/universities.  53% were accepted to at least one college/university ranked in the Top 150 (U.S. News & World Report rankings), surpassing the board goal of 50%.  Of course, the Upper School is very proud of Jazmyne Smith, our first ivy-leaguer, who will be attending the University of Pennsylvania in fall; Alexis Tolbert will be attending the very prestigious Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
Live and Learn Overseas Opportunities: The number of students participating in our experiential learning programs continues to rise with 1 student participating in NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School), 13 students participating in EIL (Experiment in International Living) and 9 students participating in SDC (Student Diplomacy Corp). A total of 23 students will be travelling to France, China, Costa Rica, Peru, Spain, Ireland, Italy, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay,  and Japan over the summer.
National Recognition: The Upper School was recognized by U. S. News & World Report for the fourth straight year as one of the best high schools in America.  Newsweek also selected the Upper School as a top “Beating the Odds” school (ranked #199 in the country), which recognizes high achieving, high poverty schools
