For the third year in a row, University Academy has had a student artist get accepted in to the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art's No Boundaries Teen Art Initiative.
Pictured is this year's worthy recipient, Domini Johnson, along with Monica Wimbley (Domini's mother), Megan Gallant (Artist Educator), Mary Kemper Wolf (Kemper Museum Trustee Chair), and Charles Helzberg. The photo was taken by Ms. Hammond at the dinner reception held last week for the young artists.
This was very competitive - only 20 students from the metro area were accepted into the program. Her impressive essay and select art pieces won her the placement. She will work with two other professional artists besides Megan Gallant, and several other young KC artists at the Kemper Crossroads Gallery. The program, which runs January through March, has the students creating a collaborative art piece that will be displayed at the gallery in April of 2016.
