Covid-19 Update:
As we sign out of this online learning journey, I wanted to share a taste of what we accomplished.
We made hand-washing videos, Social Activism posters regarding inequities of Covid-19 cases in African American and LatinX communities, visual journals of our Stay-At-Home necessities, and we participated in the global Quarantine Art History Challenge!

We find ourselves in very strange times right now.  I do hope this finds you all well- physically and mentally!  This will be a test for all of us and we will work it out, no doubt about it.  Parents, guardians, students --- Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.  This is new for all of us and we will figure it out together. Please be patient with me as I promise to be with you.  We are all going to try our best and we will make this work!

Visual Arts, 6-12

Teaching art is my passion. I LOVE what I do. My hope and intention is to make our students lifelong artists or at the very least, lifelong art enthusiasts!

A bit about me- I was born and raised in Kansas City, then spent twenty wonderful years in California before coming back to KC, where I have remained since.  I have traveled to a few bits around the world and love exploring new cultures. I have a fabulous son who graduated from UA in 2014, a lovely sheep dog- Bailey, and two cantankerous cats- Niko and Bubba, all rescues.  Teaching is my third career- I spent twenty years in insurance in San Francisco and in KC, and ten years in professional theatre in San Francisco. This is my fourteenth year teaching and all of them have been here at UA. I thoroughly enjoy sharing my passion for the arts and teaching about this wonderfully diverse world we live in.
