Hello My Name Is...
I live in Kansas City, MO with my two dogs, Trigger and Champ. I enjoy walking and playing at the park with my dogs, watching the KU Jayhawks, Chiefs, or Royals play, and spending time with my family and friends. I attended Pittsburg State University, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in Goodman, MO where I taught 3 years. Last year I moved home, to Kansas City, and began teaching at University Academy. This will be my 6th year teaching.
I believe that every child is capable of learning, but not all children learn in the same way. I believe that children need to feel safe and successful in their classroom. They also need to know how much they mean to our classroom community. I expect good attitudes, best effort, and kindness toward others at all times. Failure to make choices consistent with these expectations will have consequences. I believe that parents and teachers must work together in order to have the greatest impact on a child’s learning and love of learning.
